The Girl I Was

The Pain it burned in my chest

My eyes they cried like all the rest

The innocence of a girl

The happiness in the world

Now there’s nothing that I feel

Is there anything that is real.

The girl I knew once before

The girl I was that you tore

You broke her down; Ruined her faith

Can you see her in my face?

Is she there for you to feel?

Can you tell is she still real?

I look back at my self

And all I see is someone else

The girl who laughed, the girl who cried

The girl that had a bit of pride

Now she sits beside her self

Because there’s simply no one else.
